Reading Buddhaghosa and Bergson. Interested in Temporality and Memories. Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Hindu College. Surviving on coffee and tea.
I presented this at IIAS, Shimla. Considering the audience, I think it was way more fun for me than the listeners.

Let’s see if I get to write this. Ever since reading Children of Time by Adrian Tchaoisky, I have been thinking about spiders a lot!

I was sceptical about the book ‘Liberalism as a Way of Life’ by Alexander Lefebvre but, 70 pages in, it is pretty good

Reading ‘Buddhism and Political Theory’ by Matthew Moore. It is full of reductive positions and passive reconstructions. Why hasn’t anyone accused him of distorting Buddhism or are those remarks reserved for scholars like me?

Two of my Sem II students made a kickass song as their final project. Original beat, flow, production, and lyrics

I submitted this. Think it is decent!
This has been accepted by the editorial board of a journal for a special issue on 'Historiography of Indian Philosophy'. Cautiously excited to work on this!

No matter how many times you have faced it before, academic rejection hurts with the same intensity every time.

Read this over the weekend. Exploring how the image of the Buddha as a 'scientific' and 'rational' human was constructed in the 18th and 19th century. Excellent! A bit rhetorical in style which works for the content presented.

Finally working on this. It would require some luck to bring this into fruition.
I have to draft a book proposal for an edited volume on a classical Indian thinker (Buddhaghosa). Suggestions are most welcome regarding themes, the need for such a volume, what it shouldn't be etc.

Journals suddenly responding after a couple of years 'congratulations! your article has been published' will never not be funny! Like, so what, what do I do, my entire life has changed now!

While engaging with classical Indian Philosophy, I think one should atleast acknowledge the presence of a framework provided by Edward Said in Orientalism; when may or may not agree with it.

Watched Taiwanese movie Incantation. Someone explain why South East Asian (and beyond) horror is eerie in a way that I feel pukish for the entire duration of the movie.

Love the remarks of one reviewer: It will be wrong to say that the author has distorted Bergson. Author seems knowledgeable but the radicality of Bergson is lost if attempt to borrow a typology from him or conceptualise it.
Like what other option I have to write a paper other than conceptualizing.
Absoultely savage reviews for one of my papers. Hate this field.

Someone should write about how speculations wrt classical texts using contemporary framework when presented as epistemic claims is a new form of orientalism.

One more student project. A satirical video essay on Kants Enlightenment and touches upon a few contemporary issues. Excellent in execution.

TIL that there is no causal link between experience of fear and pulse rate. I was terrified while watching Longlegs and my heart beat was under 80. But while watching RGV Bhooth my pulse was around 90-95 (I think bcz of music and pace of the movie) though I wasn't feeling scared.

Writing on Buddhaghosa and Eminem on the experience and articulation of disgust. It will be the end of philosophy as we know it.
