Please, nobody wake up Green Day tomorrow. If they're awake they might make more music, and they haven't made a good album since "Nimrod" in '97.

I'm literally a Christian. Bud "The Christian" Sturguess they call me! And even I know that this is unconstitutional. Moreover, things like this can drive people further away from faith.

I got into some small degree of trouble over my last blog about Charlie Kirk, being accused of taking his racist and antisemitic remarks "out of context." So, I've remedied that by providing more elaboration on his racist and antisemitic remarks in this follow-up.

For me, the greatest song ever written about 9/11. It's emotional while not cheesy, genuine and heartfelt, without a demand for nationalistic pride. It reminds me the people who suffered and died that day were *people*, not talking points.

"Kids"

You're weird. You talk to imaginary friends.

You whine and make messes. Your parents are hippies.

But when you become a tearless, spotless teddy bear
taped to a little pink cross,
minding your manners in horrible silence,

I steal away and die a little death.

Sermon given at my church, concerning injustice, poverty and the oppressed. Much of what's said here here could be called "woke," "socialist," or other buzzwords people use to dismiss inconvenient facts. Buy it's beyond and above woke. It's simply the Word of God.

How severe sycophancy is in the GOP:
In Texas, an actor in John Cornyn's ads boasts "Cornyn votes with Trump 99% of the time!" Is that really a bragging point? "I agree with this other guy on EVERYTHING! I literally can't think for myself! Vote for a guy whose accomplishment is: riding coat-tails!"

If the standard amount for Christians to tithe - including to individuals in need, not strictly to one's local church fund - is 10% of your income, I think in the wake of the gutting of Medicaid and SNAP, Christians who voted Republican should increase their tithing to 20%.
