In the anime Dragon Ball Z there exists a hyperbolic time chamber, where time is skewed so a year in the chamber would be equivalent to a day spent outside the chamber. I think I’ll need a hyperbolic time chamber to finish all the experiments and writing I need to finish by the end of the year…

If you’re at #sfn25 you definitely don’t want to miss this nanosymposium on cilia, tomorrow from 1-4pm! Come learn about neuronal cilia, they do some pretty cool stuff!
Synapses may get all the glory, but join us cilia-philes for our @sfn.org Nanosymposium to learn about the role of cilia in modulating brain activity, behavior, and development.

Sunday November 16th 1-4pm SDCC Room 25A. Thrilled to chair with @konjikusicmia.bsky.social - we'll see you there!

I keep getting asked whether I would consider leaving the states and my answer is no. It took four generations of hardship for my family to make it into this country. I can’t just run from the fight now.

Thrilled to share work from my PhD is now online as a preprint! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

We show prey capture learning requires V1, enhances V1b tuning to behavior, and induces persistent plasticity in firing rates and spines, gated by homeostatic, rather than Hebbian processes. Read more:
Rapid prey capture learning drives a slow resetting of network activity in rodent binocular visual cortex
Neocortical neurons possess stable firing rate set points to which they faithfully return when perturbed. These set points are established early and are stable through adulthood, suggesting they are i...
