5/ So much alarmist & utter nonsense peddled out there that people actually believe about minority groups they don’t understand or even bother trying to understand. Are you being lured into the dark passions of anger, fear and resentment? Just a thought, maybe your thoughts are being Reform-ed.

4/ We have a moral and ethical duty to notice what’s seeping through the sieve of our attention & to ask who benefits from the stories we let shape us. If we don’t we risk sleepwalking into the very thing we think we are resisting; the stripping away of our rights; not just those of ‘boat people’.

3/ Those that bleat about ‘sheeple’, may be the 'sheeple’- meat to feed a system that benefits fatcats. Real free thinking takes work. It’s not about existing in an echo chamber and rejecting the mainstream; it’s about questioning every stream, especially those that tell us what we want to hear.

2/ It's deeply concerning how easily any of us from any political angle, can be drawn into a narrative that flatters our sense of being clever, rebellious or “awake". We might just be echoing ideas that have been carefully seeded and amplified with a helping hand from Russian propaganda

1/ Lest we forget…
It occured to me today that Farage’s choice of the word “Reform” for his party is uncomfortably close to “Thought Reform.”
Words like reform and freedom sound wholesome and attractive, but they can also be powerful tools of persuasion and manipulation.

“Let’s be clear, since a lot of people seem to be finding that difficult: most people who get upset if they see black or brown faces in adverts are racists. There are few other reasons for seeing diversity in advertising to bother anyone.” www.thenewworld.co.uk/james-ball-s...
Sarah Pochin and the new age of open racism
What the Reform MP said was appalling. The Tories’ refusal to condemn her is arguably worse

Farage’s “Reform” sounds positive until you think “Thought Reform.” Words like freedom can persuade, not just inspire. Even “awake” thinkers can echo ideas amplified by disinformation campaigns, including Russian ones. Question everything. Don’t be meat for the system.
