Story boarding process so I can start visualizing what I want and need in each part of this book.

What if I didn’t make this a period piece? What if the story was actually modern boy lives in an older home, but vampire boy’s been preying on the neighborhood for centuries?

Someone asked me today if my main characters were lovers and honestly in this story not really. They’re both insecure in their own right and trying to get out of their comfort zones and they go through that sort of metamorphosis together, but not necessarily in an outward romantic way.

I’ve written and rewritten my basic story outline so many times now. It feels right in the outline, but the second I take it to paper I start to doubt everything.

The more I draw up floor plans the more I realize I would have built terrible houses 😂

None of these are my photos, but a collection of weeping willow trees I found online. It’ll be a central local of my inciting incident. Weeping willows can symbolize grief and mourning and in some cases immortality and life after death which I think sum up my main characters pretty well.

It took way longer than it should have to determine a time period for my novel idea, but I think I settled comfortably on somewhere in the 1800s so that’s a start.
