While I'm definitely chase storms, nothing pleases me more than to photograph intense close-ups of the magnificent ice crystals we call snow. I am always humbled by their magnificent beauty. Best viewed full screen!
This amazing plate measured <0.5mm but the stunning detail is amazing to behold. This looks like layered cake of snowflakes one in the other w/Asian minarets in the middle. Frigid cold, low DGZ, magic plates. Aurora CO 1am 1/18. #wxbluesky #cowx #wxbs @stormhour.bsky.social @jimcantore.bsky.social

So....the past 24 hours have been amazing for snowflakes. The start of the season was quiet...but finally perfect dendritic conditions finally set up. Love the pink center of this beautiful flake. It will take a while to process all the photos :). #cowx #wxbluesky

What a week...another write up about my storm chasing and weather in the Denver Gazette! It includes Irma & Kai :) (name spelled wrong in the article). And amazing praise from my mentor in snowflakes, Don Komarechka Photography. I'm a very blessed guy. denvergazette.com/life/meet-co...

A little late (as I continued to figure out how to pull myself away from X and into BS :)). Thin film interference with Xmas colors from a snow event last week in Aurora, CO. #cowx #wxbluesky Very pretty center :)

Had a wonderful time speaking with John Daley with

I've never actually scored a snowflake on the first measurable snow of the season! It ain't pretty--it was near 32 deg and high humidity (this results in melting and pitting like you see here). But it had a cool structure. #cowx #wxtwitter

Helluva cold core thunderstorm at (checks notes) 430am in Aurora CO in late October. Expecting tornadic thunderstorms in west Kansas today but can't go due to adulting. Note: we don't get hail, thunder, and lightning almost EVER at this time of day let alone this late in the season! #cowx
