Abandoned fortress, built in 1817 to defend Liège. It even played a role in the defense of the city against the Germans in World War I. Used as barracks by the Belgian army until 1988, and since then nature took over. #ue #urbex #urbanexploration #Belgium #decay #abandoned #fort #chartreuse
