Above Scotts Mill, OR, Santiam Fire Aftermath, another photo from last week's Oregon road trip. Thinking of this as perhaps another series; Slow Recovery.
Five years after the 2020 wild fire and the reforestation charges are subtle, a reminder that nature heals itself very slowly.

Above Scotts Mill, OR, Santiam Fire Aftermath, a landscape photo from last week's Oregon road trip. A black and white study for a potential Multi-Media Monotype for my Urban Ashes series. Investigating a lasting imprint of the logging pathway to salvage the usable trees after the urban wildfire.

El Cariso Village, Riverside County (CA), the aftermath of the Airport Fire (2024). I printed four versions of this multi-media monotype, while the ghost print appeared to be my best candidate for subsequent hand-coloring (Prismacolor art pencils)

Superior, Colorado (Marshall wildfire aftermath, 2022), Urban Ashes series (no. 6580), a 16 x 20" multi-media monotype I printed on a 20 x 24" sheet of cotton rag.

Delighted to be selected for Lenscratch’s 2025 summer exhibition, A Summer of Hope, "to remind us that it takes conscious effort and active action to make the world brighter, sharper, and actively in focus."

Renewal (Memory Pod series) an archival pigment print weave (24 x 24")

Superior, Colorado, Urban Ashes series (no. 93908), a multi-media monotype with hand-coloring. I continued to hand-color this monotype to resolve my sky issues (plus a few other touch-ups), now completed.

16 x 20" image: Intaglio and pigment inks & Prismacolor pencils on 20 x 24" cotton rag sheet.

Does not appear that my tribe has followed me to Bluesky...so what's next??

Superior, Colorado, Urban Ashes no. 6595, version 2, a multi-media monotype weave. The aftermath of the Marshall urban wildfire. I modified my earlier print weave as the checker-board pattern in the sky in my first weave attempt became too distracting for me.

Classic cyanotype, 11 x 14" on 16 x 20" sheet of Bergger Cot, edition of 5, San Clemente Surf, morning, March 2024 (no. 8681, Warming Water, Anthropogenic Crisis series). Just finished framing, without glass or mat, today for a special collector, soon heading to Salt Lake City, UT.

Cool! Getting more validation for my continuing development of my Entanglements series with the third Critical Mass Top 200 Finalist recognition.

Glitter (San Clemente beach) is now heading to the wall of a former San Clemente city lifeguard. He told me that there were so many days in his guard tower when he had to look into the afternoon sun reflections to make sure that all of the swimmers were safe.

Extremely delighted! Ella chose one of my favorite Multi-Media Monotypes from my Warming Water series (San Clemente, No. 070123) for her Brooklyn (NYC) home. This monotype (intaglio and pigment ink on cotton rag) is from my investigation of the Anthropogenic Crisis.

Superior, Colorado, Urban Wildfire Aftermath, Marshall Fire, 2022 from my Urban Ashes series. Getting this monotype print ready for the chopping block to create a print weave, and realized that this too is going to be a keep 'as-is' monotype (intaglio and pigment ink on cotton rag).

El Cariso Village, Riverside County (CA), the aftermath of the Airport Fire (2024). Intaglio and pigment inks on cotton rag, subsequent irregular weave of two of the prints.

From my Urban Ashes series, another print of the urban landscape of Boulder Colorado in the aftermath of the 2022 Marshall wild urban fire. A print that I was going to incorporate into a weave, while deciding after some post-printing modifications that it looks great as-is.

Aftermath, Marshall Fire, Superior, Colorado, 2022 (No. 6226, Urban Ashes series), monotype print weave, intaglio and pigment inks on cotton rag. Continuing to explore this concept using my multi-media monotype prints, a hand-weave from two different printing sessions.

Hope (Memory Pods series) Another idea for a print weave for my series that I experimented with this weekend. Prompted by a statement: what might hope look like for those whose memory is fading. Memory Pods is an investigation of aging, mortality, memory & loss #botanicalart #handweave #memory

Opening reception of the Irvine Annual (#41) at the Irvine Fine Arts Center yesterday and honored to share the walls with so many talented artist. I had some interesting discussions with other print makers around the nuances of working with intaglio ink. Urban Ashes series, multi-media monotype.

Getting informal feedback during a print critique of my latest print weaves for my Memory Pods series. This has been a low-stress way to find out how some new prints resonate when trying something new, such as some of my recent print weaves that may incorporate text. #handweave #botanical

Brain Fog (Memory Pods series) A print weave that I experimented with prompted by a statement about "brain fog". Memory Pods is an ongoing investigation of aging, mortality, memory and loss. From scanned 120 Porta 160 film, Pigment prints, 24 x 24". #botanicalart #handmade #handweave #memory

Superior CO, 2022, Marshall Fire. Experimentation with my multi-media monotypes using my first attempts with Intaglio ink. Weave two printing 'failures' that might make an interesting print #urbanphotography #urbanlandscapephotography #climatechange #marshallfire #monotype #alternativephotography
