Here's a pinned post for this account with expanded favourites grids.

If the bio doesn't explain enough, I saw someone make an account to replace yearly media threads and the Third Strike "Yeah, that makes sense" sound clip played in my head. New entries will be reposted to main.
Knives Out (2019), Glass Onion (2022) and Wake Up Dead Man (2025):

Rewatched the lot before getting to Wake Up Dead Man. I really like all of them but I think I'd probably go KO, WUDM, GO in order. I think the mystery writer setting of the first helps it and WUDM has its religious mythologising.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 17 (2025):

Not too much to say except another great season. "Mac and Dennis become EMTs" fucking killed me.
December 13, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Dispatch (2025):

Roll on whatever's next from Adhoc. More Dispatch would be Phenomamal but I trust whatever else they come up with too.

The Running Man (2025):

Fun time with an extremely on the nose story but definitely felt where it could've been better in places. One of the less important ones, I don't know if it's because I got spoiled by Baby Driver, but there was only a couple of Edgar Wright's really good music choices/uses.

Jujutsu Kaisen S2 (2023):

I like that they took the final episode just to say "shit's fucked" like we hadn't been locked into Sukuna, Mahito and Geto's rapidly accelerating misery ride for about 15 episodes.
November 16, 2025 at 5:14 AM
Jujutsu Kaisen (2020):

Bundling with 0 since it's a rewatch/refresher and it's still a great time, got me very ready to get through S2 and the premiere of S3 after revisiting.

Chainsaw Man The Movie - Reze Arc (2025):

Absolutely loved this, I gotta read the manga already. Also Iris Out has been stuck in my head since watching, Kenshi Yonezu the Music Devil for real.

Digimon Story Time Stranger (2025):

Extremely good to have a Digimon game again (sure I could go play the old ones but getting new entries in a series is a different feeling). Very similar feeling to ZA about this game, it has its problems for me but just as room for improvement. Bring on the next.
November 2, 2025 at 2:14 AM
Pokemon Legends Z-A (2025):

Really loved this game. If you haven't heard this 1000 times before, it has issues but they don't hold it back. Character/dialogue writing here is a favourite of mine, building on ScVi's great cast. If the improvements are made, Gen 10 could challenge BW and SM for me.

Dandadan Season 2 (2025)

That's why they're the GOAT etc etc, I think I've made my feelings on Dandadan clear but also crazy disparity between what a great cliffhanger point S2 has and what they chose for S1.

No Country For Old Men (2007):

All I could think about for the beginning was how Josh Brolin said he always knew where one of the Coens was when they screened it because they'd be laughing their ass off at him improvising going "Hmm" when he opens the satchel full of money.

Rounders (1998):

Thanks to NL, I've been saying "He beat me. Straight up." and "Pay that man his money" in John Malkovich's Russian accent for years before even seeing this movie.

Was a good time.

Hell or High Water (2016):

The Youtube Shorts film algorithm came through with an alright movie about how banks are the fucking worst and everybody hates them.
September 10, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Dandadan (2024):

Remembering why Dandadan is the greatest combined with the Science Saru sauce is a real good time. But like everyone before me, I cannot understand the ending point of season 1, like are you actually insane.
September 4, 2025 at 2:55 AM
Yes Man (2008):

Put on because it was a Carrey film I hadn't seen, had a pretty alright time with it for something just to get me in the habit of watching stuff again.

Nobody 2 (2025):

Another fun one, more silly than the other film of the day. Think the first one is a bit better but it does its job well as "waiter, more Nobody please". RZA gets to be a weeb in this one.

Caught Stealing (2025):

Pretty good time for going to see this on a whim, really liked it. Learning to take responsibility by way of looking after a cat through a violent accidental crime journey.
August 30, 2025 at 12:17 AM
The Naked Gun (1988):

Watched these because of most likely going to see the new one soon, did not disappoint. Pretty sure that one guy in the second one got like Mortal Kombat fatality'd off screen.
August 23, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Blackberry (2023):

Why do they wanna make Social Network 2.0, it's already been done?

Also "I'm from Waterloo, where the vampires hang out" is a crazy line. Not quite Fuck You Flip Flops tho.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

Real good time with this. Same as Superman, just throwing us in with a small summary of how things stand makes it a lot easier to make a good movie.

Whole cast does a great job but really enjoyed Johnny especially in this. Looking forward to the next one.
July 30, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (2014):

Going Super Saiyan is pretty cool.
July 28, 2025 at 9:33 PM
AEW All In: Texas (2025):

You'll believe a Cowboy can get DDT'd into a bed of nails.
July 13, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Superman (2025):

This shit means something to me, man
July 11, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025):

Tom Cardy's fever inspired recollection of the Jurassic Park series still rings true:

"What beautiful and majestic creatures... Yeah, run.
~Let's never go back to dinosaur island~"

Never did get to the space dinosaurs or robo dinosaurs yet though. (This was Okay)
July 6, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Elden Ring: Nightreign (2025):

Was a little slow to get into it but 40 hours in and beat the final boss/rolled credits once and I am firmly in the "Yeah, more FromSoft!" camp. Love most of the new bosses (ones I don't, I still appreciate), definitely love the Nightfarers as presets and characters.
