After problem solving we then moved on to learning about the life of our patron saint, St. Francis Xavier. Here we are using the iPad to research. We then used Padlet to record and share our findings on the Smartboard. This was the first time we did this and we all worked very well! 🫶🏻

Turbo, our pet snail has gone on an adventure & he has been sending us postcards. He's been to Mexico & is now in India. He told us all about Diwali & we made some wonderful clay Diya lamps. These will look even better when we decorate them! We've written instructions on how to create them too ❤️

Last week we learned about the Eiffel Tower, looking carefully at its strong structure. Working in pairs, we planned our own tower design using the iPads. Today we brought them to life using clay. We successfully created a strong structure which could stand without support! 👏🏻🗼

Today we remembered and prayed for all those who have fought in wars to protect us. We listened to the poppy story & made our own. We saw photos of war graves some boys visited at the weekend and we were very lucky to see some real items from the army. Thank you for bringing these in for us to see.

We enjoyed some seasonal activities yesterday. We kicked off our new 'procedure' genre by following instructions to create lanterns, got messy and creative with pumpkins, extended our addition and subtraction skills with a really sticky game & learned all about shading and the value scale in art ❤️
November 1, 2025 at 11:30 AM
We had great fun exploring the 5 point value scale to create these wonderful pieces of art. We focused on shade and experimented with mixing black and white paint. We then used black and white to create different shades of a colour ❤️🎨

We started maths week by exploring how maths is used in jobs. We looked at ceramic tilers and weavers roles and how they use repeated pattern/colour in design. We have been learning about tesselation and how it is used in craft and design. Patience, problem solving and creativity skills required! 😁
September 23, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Today as part of #mathsweekscotland we were ceramic tiling designers! We used our knowledge of shape to make our pattern. We added colour too. We needed to use a ruler to make our pattern fit and work.
