Pasted against the nebulous backdrops of doubt and passing time, This Joyful Interlude assembles a delicate collage of hopes and romantic longings.

Thank you to @janes-studio.bsky.social for all your hard work and brilliance.
Thanks also to @steverinod.bsky.social for your lovely forward.

A couple of years ago Robin was not well for a few months and of course we were very worried. Happily she bounced back to herself but this poem is about how hard it was to shake the worry.

It was published in a recent issue of the always excellent Madrid Review.

Thanks for reading :)

This is a poem published recently in the Cisco 50th Anniversary Anthology. It's about the helplessness & guilt I felt as my father suffered horribly & so unfairly with dementia.

It also features in the latest book, A Quarter Dead and Half Alive, published last month by the mighty Renard Press.

How do you make a publisher blush? 😳

It was a real joy to see Sandi Toksvig’s show last night promoting Friends of Dorothy (Virago). We thought we were there to support @mayeroflondon.bsky.social, whose novel TIME/LIFE has been widely recommended by Sandi – but here’s what actually happened.

There are a whole heap of longer poems but this is another short poem from my new, million selling, smash hit book - A Quarter Dead and Half Alive that was published a few weeks back by Renard Press.

It's about the love my father had for my daughter, even through his dementia.
