Our final morning of the weekend dawned. The time had come for us to pack our stuff into the cars and leave the hut in a reasonable state for retuning to the site. The cleaning team had left a trolley of doom outside the hut, a tangible message that it was time to go. With the cars loaded and the key surrendered, we made our way over to the venue for a final time.

A lot of people seemed to be going over to breakfast a little later today, than yesterday. It was a good opportunity to catch up. One lady had taken a hot tub lid too the head and was wondering whether she had concussion. At least she was not bitten on the nose by a duck this time. With some time to go before the quiz, we dispersed – to the coast, to the craft fair, back to bed, etc.

We woke to actually Sunny Hunstanton, on the second morning of our Weekend At Sunny Hunstanton. We made our way over to the venue for the first catered breakfast. It was lovely to sit and chat with Plussers from around the land. We learned of competitive sleeping – only deep sleeping counts, as scored by the wrist device. We discussed plans for the day, including a trip out to Cromer to see the Edward VIII letterbox.

With several hours to go before the full WASH phenomenon kicked in, we took it easy; visiting friends and taking in the winter wonders of Hunstanton in January. Come teatime, we headed over to Smokey Joe's for the first meal of the half-board weekend. We found it re-branded "Ambers", with its array of red signs. The food was good - fish and chips, steak pie, mince, etc.

The time of year has rolled around again where we ask ourselves; what could be better than a three-night weekend in Norfolk with Plus group members from all over the country. Again, we settled on a four-night weekend in Norfolk with Plus group members from all over the country. Rather than gathering in Hunstanton on a Friday night in November, we gathered on a wet Thursday in January.

Charades is such a simple and straightforward game. Mix in a bit of Stevenage.Plus magic and it makes for a wonderful and entertaining night. It was a very high scoring game, we are very good at the miming and the guessing, but we can't get them all right. One person correctly guessed "Countdown" before the miming began. So much fun.

There is more to a Stevenage.Plus Pool Night than just the pool. There was the take-out food, the pizzas, wings and kebab. More than that though, there was the company, the conversation, the camaraderie, the biscuits. It was a wonderful evening spent well and it flew by very quickly - which is a good thing when you are spending a slice of it waiting that long for the pizza guy to bring our dinners.

Stevenage.Plus is run by its members, for the membership. Twice a year, we come together to elect a committee that will guide the group for the coming months. Reports on the last six months are received and biscuits eaten. There was humour, banter, discussing, accounts, planning, voting and baked goods. There was socialising to follow the business of the meeting. It was a very nice and well attended night.

We gathered in a pub car park on a cold January morning before heading off into the countryside to walk and chat. Conditions were muddy, and there was a little ice, but overall the weather was much better than forecast. The company was just as wonderful as expected, with the conversation flowing nicely as we made our way around the rural ring route.

There is an irony to our holding an event about The Worst Day of the Year, concerning the downing of the Christmas decorations, on a day with terrible weather conditions. When we arrived, we were met with the news that a piece had been found, presumably dropped during our jigsaw puzzle race a few weeks before. Our resident jigsaw expert keenly took hold of it and closely inspected it with the eye of a master jeweller examining a diamond.

With Christmas and New Year now fond memories, we turned out on a frosty night to eat Indian food in celebration of a member's birthday. We were still laughing about the events of the party on Wednesday, which got the conversation off to a great start. There were greeting cards and gifts. The popadoms came and went, the drinks, the mains, a wonderful night - if still cold when we got outside.

The party got off to a great start when the member who had just carried the lemonade bottle that was quietly spraying out to the side into the flat, turned round to look when asked by the host what that was along the wall and sprayed it along the other wall too. With the waterworks sorted, we went through to the lounge, sat around and chatted and ate and drank.

We had a very good turn out for our Chrimbo Limbo group night. As well as being treated to the return of the old favourite game where we had to pick which of two possible answers was correct, we were also treated to the return of a lot of sweet Christmassy treats that we had not managed to finish off at the Christmas Spectacular last week.

Part of our Stevenage.Plus festive traditions is to hold our Christmas Spectacular on the last group night before the big day. Rather than one member hosting for the night, individual members host different rounds. These included: Anagrams, balloon modelling, unwrapping Christmas presents in oven gloves, Christmas selfies, left / right nativity, quick fire cracker jokes and the infamous advent calendar relay.

We donned our festive finery and gathered in a hotel restaurant for a Christmas dinner and dance. The table was decked out with crackers, electric candles and an ice bucket with a very handy bottle opener built into the rim. The conversations flowed and the courses kept coming - starter, main and dessert. With the food done, the music was ramped up and the dancing began.

We have held many a jigsaw puzzle race over the years. Usually, the teams have no trouble working together to complete a 500 piece jigsaw in the time. To ramp it up a bit, this time we attempted some very difficult jigsaw puzzles and none of the teams managed to complete their image. The winning team did come close though. The main thing was that it was a social evening with great company and conversation.

It was lovely to come together in a country pub to eat in celebration of a member's birthday. As well as the food and drink, there were cards and even a few gifts. More than that though the company was great and the conversation kept flowing longer than the drinks. We were almost the last people in the pub when we eventually turned out into the car park at the end of a wonderful night.

50 tracks were played, one by one. The more musically knowledgable were asked to name that tune, artist and decade. The rest of us simply had to look out for sixteen particular songs and cross them off, bingo style. The card shown was completed with the 49th song. It was a very sweet evening, with a lot of cakes and sweets to share.

We gathered, with chairs and snacks, at the home of one of our members to watch the recent film, "I Swear". This is a story of a man overcoming a disadvantage and turning it around through the power of communication - with swearing. It was really good and sat well as the focal point of our lovely evening spent in good company with a fair amount of chatting.

We came together for an evening celebrating the Christmas traditions from around the world. There were quiz questions about international Christmas traditions, Christmas foods, Fathers Christmas and so on. Perhaps best of all, there were some cakes of Christmas from around the world too. It was really nice evening to start off the festive period. Coming up on Saturday we have a movie night.

We simply gathered at the home of one of our members, to sit and chat. Some played pool. Some ordered take-out. We all had a great time and enjoyed the buffet during the evening which generated comfortingly little in the way of news, as the hours quickly flew by. Boggle is a game where a container of 16 lettered dice is shaken to randomly create a four by four grid of letters. Words then must be created from strings of adjacent (or diagonally adjacent) letters. It turns out that some of our members were considerably better at this than others. Balderdash is the classic game where a word is given with three possible meanings, the correct meaning has to be selected.

We woke to a cold and sunny late November morning, knowing that it was time to pack up the luggage and load up the cars. The Plus WhatsApp group for the weekend was buzzing with messages of great enjoyment, thanks for organising, safe journeys home accomplished and lookings forward to next year as we made our way down the A11.

We woke to a very rainy morning. Some of us ventured out, swimming or geocaching. Others of us hung around the hut in our pyjamas. The weather improved in time for Vernon Kay to start his performance in the venue. We decided to leave Great Yarmouth altogether and head out to Gorleston-on-Sea. The sun came out and gave us a rainbow as we walked along the seafront and investigated various tourist attractions.

We woke to a warmer day than yesterday and a drier day than forecast. We headed into town to take in the sights of Great Yarmouth in November. We saw the pier, the beach, the arcades, the shops, the seagulls, a rock sofa and so much more. We even got Wamageddoned in the Minster Christmas market. There were chips for lunch.
