Frankenstein is well acted and beautifully shot. Guillermo del Toro knows how to make a stunning film, and Jacob Elordi steals the film with a masterful performance. But, it’s far too long and becomes meandering several times. It’s a good film, but chop 30 minutes off and it could have been great.

I’ve had my EV car for 2 years now, and it is, hands down, the car that has the most number of strangers stopping me in the street to ask me about it.

I’ve had 30 books published in 13 years, and I’ve had a large number of people message me telling me they like, love, or even dislike my work.
But I’ve only ever had one guy email me to tell me that using the Nazis as bad guys is unfair to Nazis.

Slow Horses season 5 was spectacular. One of the best shows in tv. A great cast, but Gary Oldman is a masterclass of acting.

The amount of time the BBC spend talking about Reform and Farage, they really should just have a “sponsored by” label on the screen.

In 15 years of working the railway, I had to deal with (I think) 5 derailments, 3 of which weren’t even in service, and none had serious injuries. Hearing of a train derailment this morning is scary, but zero major injuries is a good end to a scary situation.

Had a brilliant World Fantasy Con. Got to see many friends, and make new ones. Had a wonderful panel too, and generally, it was just an awesome few days. Happy to go home now though.

Back in my early 20s , I went to The Hobbit pub a lot. Going back after 20ish years I’ve discovered that not only do they play the same music, but they have the same age in customers. I feel a bit old now.
