We're not a particularly high tax country.
Laffer is full of shit and always has been. His imaginary curve was famously drawn on a napkin during a well lubricate lunch with fellow employees of the elite.

Trump's "success" with legal cases against media companies in the US is more about his ability, as President, to disrupt the commercial plans of their parent companies than any legal merit.
Mostly they have just folded in cases they could almost certainly have won in court.

Does Philp really think "local people" have a right to say certain people cannot live in their area?
Sounds like a dangerous idea to me.
Also, he's criticising something that was set up by his government.

But that is not enough. No.10 should never have been in a position to install Gibb in the first place. It shouldn't control the board membership, the DG appointment, or the purse strings. What's required is genuine independence for the BBC.

The rise of Christian nationalism in Britain and its relationship with the far right
A new type of Christianity - more militant, more political - is on the rise. But some in the Church of England claim this is a "corruption" of their faith.

It amazes me how much faith people seem to put in "influencers". If someone is trying to sell you something, they are not a neutral source of info.

We've had over two decades of the right wing press and billionaire backed hard right lobbyists (posing as think tanks) constantly ramming home the message that the BBC is biased to the left often because the corporation chose to report the facts about poverty or immigration or taxes.

I haven’t seen any reporting of this on the BBC. And yet, you’d think the Archbishop of York being ordered out of the West Bank would be sufficiently newsworthy

I don't know about AI. But, my experience is that a Google search for any medical symptom will rapidly lead to a description of a condition which is invariably fatal within 12 months.

As I remember the BBC's coverage of the climate crisis, they spent years both siding it. Putting up that fool Lord Lawson to lie for the denial side and giving him equal standing with genuine experts.
