Coming into land at LAX this morning. This photo does not convey the density, strength and fierceness of the flames beneath. Thinking of all those affected ❤️

The Recreational Aviation Foundation is a great organization dedicated to maintaining airfields around the USA. This photo of mine was a winner in the RAF 2024 photo competition.

It’s a rare thing to watch four C47-DC3s taking off one after the other. These photos were taken in Normandy, France during the 75th anniversary of the ending of the 2nd world war.

The Next Move in Hybrid-Electric Revealed - JulietBravoFox Media
Electra.aero is a very cool aviation start-up that proposes a niche vehicle in the short- to medium-haul regional transport scheme. It isn;t eVTOL… it’s eSTOL, and it uses current certification basis ...

Daher, with its TBM and Kodiak offerings, would satisfy my flight requirements, well maybe add an aerobatic bird to the mix just for fun. The TBM940 was ferried across from Tarbes to the USA with my wife Julie Boatman and Margrit Waltz. The Kodiak was photographed for a story in Flying Mag. #avgeeks

We spent a great long weekend up at the wilderness airfield, Moose Creek (1U1), with the Recreational Aviation Foundation (TheRAF) helping to rebuild outhouses and fences after extreme winds and a fire ravaged the field.

Buddy Sessons, EL9 Chief Engineer shows how the hybrid electric power system works to address one of the biggest hazards in multiengine flight. “One motor fails & automatically shuts down the opposing motor leaving six remaining motors for safe flight. This is an unprecedented level of automation.”

Sometimes a photo just hits the right spot at the right time. I’d travelled 8 hours to get an air to air of this beautiful WACO, but the rain came and I had to take a ground shot. It worked and made the cover of Flying Magazine.

Of all the old birds in the sky the DC3 is my favorite. My wife is the envy of many of our pilot friends, she has a DC3 rating, it beats a 747 rating every day.

The beauty of my aviation photography job is that I get to travel to the most amazing places. Here up in the mountains of Montana with its stunning scenery.

I’d flown in the DA42 as a pax but frankly considered it uncomfortable in the back with limited leg room and I’m barely 5’10”. The DA62 however boasts enough room for me to almost lie flat while using it as a photo platform (not ideal shooting through Perspex but we do what we need to) #avgeeks
