Dad came into mum’s and my life when we were both young and now it’s just me and mum again.

Love you, Dad. RIP
My big girl is 25 today and this photo was taken by her grandad. 🤍 🖤

Conveniently, after 35 years of awards in history, the NZ History Research Trust Fund has been expended and this is the final round of history grants from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage www.mch.govt.nz/publications...

We are off to Ombrellos to celebrate Mum’s 75th birthday — it’s a bit of a favourite for family milestones. Here we are in 1994 when I left Dunedin.

1949 – 2025

Like many of his generation Dad’s middle name was in remembrance of my grandfather’s Otago Boys’ High School friend Sgt James (Jimmy) Larkin Royal New Zealand Air Force 57 Squadron RAF killed in action over Germany in June 1942.

We will remember them.

Dad had a restful sleep and, in fact, is having a well-earned Saturday sleep-in.

It reminds me of 50 years ago when he filmed on his much-loved Super 8 camera ‘Stephen’s Saturday’. It was a silent film and it’s comforting now just to sit in silence with Dad.
