O God, we ask Thee not to lift us out of life but to prove Thy power within it, We ask not for tasks more suited to our strength but for strength adequate to our tasks. Give us the vision that inspires & the grace that endures. Save us from the sin of futile sorrow which only sees but does not act.

0200—Jesus Who dost still as ever watch over all Thy children and bless them, bless those who also watch and wait, and in the dark come quickly to give what we know not how to ask; and save us.

0100- Thou Who for us men and our salvation was born at dead of night, give us daily to be born again by renewing of the Holy Ghost, til Thou be formed anew in us unto a perfect humanity; and save us.

Midnight-Thou Who with Thine own mouth didst teach that at midnight the Bridegroom shall come, grant that the cry The Bridegroom Cometh may sound evermore in our ears, that so we be never unprepared to meet Him; and save us.
