An ordinary guy. Likes computing, dogs, and all animals (esp dogs, pelicans and wombats). Did I mention dogs?
The most corrupt administration ever enriches it's devotees and sponsors. They become more wealthy, powerful and untouchable. What hope is there for the future? If the media, tech, law enforcement, and major corps are all in league. Can there be fair elections.

Trump removes some tariffs on food (and companies whose execs buy him off).
But wait. I thought tariffs were not a tax, would lower prices, and were essential for national security?

What leads anyone to think the Epstein Files will be fully released regardless of Congress?
Is the DOJ or FBI trusted or led by political hacks where the 'disloyal' staff have been removed.
Biden didn't release them.
They are toxic to both parties.

The more I read from Dem senators who voted for this the more pathetic and weak it sounds. As most of the media says, they blinked. That's it.
I have a little sympathy for schumer, but the buck stops with him to engender the right spirit and resolve in the party.
It's all just so pathetic.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Next up they remove the filibuster. Why not? If Dems get back into power they'll not use it.

@fetterman.senate.gov be honest with yourself. Just defect to GOP and stop pretending.

Schumer etc will be out saying its politically expedient, it's for the greater good etc.
It's a betrayal by weak leadership, those uncommitted to democratic principles, cowards without the courage of their supposed convictions. Or simply those too naive or ignorant on how to deal with a bully
November 10, 2025 at 10:09 AM
A dose of reality. Dem leaders suck. But at every vote there is no alternative but to vote Dem. That is no endorsement of schumer etc. Primary them and all those who are not as committed as AOC & Sanders. Pressure your senators and reps to advance active young leaders where possible.

Years ago the UK Liberal party, voted in bc people wanted change, went into govt with the conservatives. They supported things they hated in return for a vote on one issue. They lost the vote. They also lost almost all their voters for the next two decades and still haven't recovered.

Trump strutting around in a victory parade will be sickening. I hope it feels much worse for Dem senators and leaders who orchestrated this surrender. They deserve the pain and their voters need the pain to force a change.
November 10, 2025 at 9:15 AM
Time for the old guard of Dem leadership to go.
November 10, 2025 at 9:12 AM
The calculus for schumer might be a 1yr extension gets credit with some voters and carries them to the mid-terms. I think that's a huge mistake.
November 10, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Has anyone noticed how hard it is to get maga-GOP folks to explain their actual idealogy for a position? They quickly descend to tropes, quotes, non-facts and insults but not actually say what the problem is with, say climate change, legal immigration, taxing the rich, welfare, etc.
November 10, 2025 at 12:11 AM
I struggle with how this could all have been avoided if Biden and Garland had expeditiously investigated and prosecuted trump and his goons.

Who stands about looking lost and inconvenienced when someone collapses in their meeting? Would you not at least look on in concern even if others are hands on assisting? I can't imagine any prior president doing that.
He doesn't care about others, why can't everyone see that

I'd like to nominate trump for the Noble Peace prize. Resolving wars that didn't happen, restarting the nuclear arms race, threatening war with Nigeria, carrying out undeclared offensive operations against Central American countries, failing to intervene in Ukraine.
He'd be a unique winner.

An AI bonus! But if companies spend $bns on AI to fire workers where do they think the revenue will come from to justify their AI spending?
#aiMarketRisk
Amazon announces they are laying off the largest amount of workers ever in the company’s history.

30,000+ workers will lose their jobs.

Surely if we actually cut defence spending globally everything would be better off. We have nukes to ensure superpowers will never attack US/Europe and those we choose to defend or use.
Meanwhile the next wars will be drone based. So no need for huge armies, heavy armour and expensive aircraft?

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Dementia don chasing a Nobel prize might be useful if he is motivated to actually force some peace.
But surely it's undermined when he's pushing 'defence' spending around the world and accelerating US arms capability including nuclear arms.

A framework with China (like the UK, not a trade deal) and a couple of minor deals in Asia.
What happened to the 100 deals within a month from a couple of months ago?

Do you think Greenland can step down now Venezuela is in the frame?
Or was all the chat about taking over Greenland and annexing Canada just the usual bs to cover some other crimes.
