There’s a Wall Of Kindness near my office. I was sketpical at first, but it seems to work. There’s always coats on it. Hats and scarves too. Imagine if all of society could operate with these values of kindness and generosity and abundance and sharing; instead of greed and hoarding resources.

I have nothing to say, but I’m here.

I understand that social media relies on a “you’ll get out what you put in” mentality; the more you post the more interaction you get. But as a therapist I really struggle with it. How can we simply hold space and share meaningful silence together somewhere like this? Humans, not content creators.

The distress symptoms of many mental health issues / neurotypes are frequently listed as diagnostic criteria, which leads to confusion. In a fully supportive environment, a person might never experience “enough” distress to display the symptoms that would fit the criteria and qualify for diagnosis.

I’ll be going to the House Of Lords tomorrow morning to discuss issues around neurodiversity in education. My inner child wants to ask how they pick which ten lords have to be A-leaping at Christmas, and when rehearsals start. My inner adult tells me to behave.
