Hi Chris, in your latest podcast you mentioned Mrs Robinson by her 1st name, Elaine! I’d never heard that before so I looked it up and nowhere could I find that 1st name. In fact from what I see, her 1st name was purposely left out of the movie because of her background!

This is my latest. We need new "new Democrats" if we are to rise to the moment and take steps to restore American democracy, undo the damage Trump is doing and return this country to a path of growth, opportunity and leadership.
@djrothkopf.bsky.social gives a clear eyed vision as usual amongst all this chaos. It's up to the one and only pro democracy party to bring back democracy. This has long stopped being about 90s tax policy or military spending. We are literally an occupied country. The years of propaganda worked.
It's time for bold thinking and commitments from Democrats. Step one will be getting over how uncomfortable some of them will make some of us. So here's a start. 25 of the kind of ideas we need to consider.

I was a senior trade official in the U.S. government. All the other trade experts I know agree with me. Not some of them. All of them. For sure my large mostly Great Pyrenees rescue dog would do a better job managing US trade policy than Trump. And he would not destroy US democracy at the same time.

I think the news media is failing in the coverage of Trump's tariffs. They are not just bad for our economy, certain to increase prices, cost us jobs, hurt our companies and not achieve any of their stated goals. They are deranged. They are incoherent. They are the economic policy of a lunatic.
