Most writers share stories about their pets. Last night my tortoiseshell gave birth to six kittens. This was her telling me she's about to go into labor and I had to fetch the birthing box and a blanket.

It’s funny how a moment that stood out to me so prominently in life ended up only taking up a few paragraphs near the end of my book. Sometimes the biggest impacts live in the smallest passages. I just hope readers feel the weight of it the way I did.

Going to trauma therapy, learned about ASMR & brain spotting, but am I doing more of that work at home by staring at a screen telling my story than staring at a ball hoping for it to work?
