Science Golden Time were building bridges out of paper today! We tested different ways of layering and rolling the paper to make it stronger! One of our bridges was able to hold a staggering 14 books!

In English, Year 2 have been asking questions to solve the mystery of the missing cake. We used our oracy skills to ask questions to the person in the hot seat.

In Maths, 2IG group have been learning about multiplication. We have began to learn about arrays, using rows and columns to group.

In Maths Year 2 have been learning how to make the same amounts in different ways. We have been developing our oracy skills by listening to ideas from our peers and building on their knowledge. Great team work, Miss Harrison was impressed!

In Art, Year 2 have added detail to their still life paintings from last week. We then set up an art gallery and left positive messages of what we liked about each other's work, using artistic vocabulary.

In Computing, Year 2 are developing their skills in coding using 'Scratch'. We are using motion, sound and looks to create an algorithm.

In English, Year 2 have written their missing posters and put them up around school. Hopefully, our descriptions help someone to recognise the cake or if they know something about the missing cake. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the mystery will be solved.

Last week the children in year 1 had lots of fun creating different London landmarks made from junk modelling for their new Geography project "Bright Lights, Big City".

In English, Year 2 enjoyed eating chocolate cake, inspired by Michael Rosen's poem 'Chocolate Cake'. However, the piece that they saved for the teacher has gone missing! We're sure it's just a mistake but we're going to write missing posters to see if anyone knows what happened.

In Art, Year 3 have been learning about L.S Lowry. We looked at different artwork pieces so we can eventually design our own. Great work Year 3🎨

Today Reception constructed their own rockets from recycled materials. They had to choose the items that fit their design and attach them together using masking tape. Some of us remembered the snipping and making a flap techniques shown at the start of the lesson ✂️

In our History lesson, Year 2 have created their own Bayeux Tapestry and used it to retell the events of the Battle of Hastings. We are learning about William the Conquer and how significant he was as a Monarch.

In Year 2, we had a mouthwatering English lesson inspired by Micheal Rosen 'Chocolate Cake'. We tried some delectable chocolate cake and then tried our best to think of adjectives to describe our 5 senses.🍫🍰

Our February Books of the Month are ready to hit the shelves! We’ve got Hedgewitch’, a magical fantasy story aimed at our older readers and recommended by Natalie in Year 6. Our second book is Mavis the Bravest, a funny, heartwarming story for younger readers.

In Maths, Virgin Money visited Year 5 to introduce their Make £5 Grow project. It was lovely to see our St Christopher pupils Max and Frankie again, who are now working for Virgin.

Reception have been learning about nocturnal animals and birds. We talked about what birds need to survive and some birds migrate to warmer countries. The children made bird cakes to take home for the birds in their garden.
