In Topic we have been talking about the seasons and the clothes we wear. We sorted through a suitcase of clothes and found the clothes we would wear in Autumn.

Reception have been reading the story of Superpotato. Today in Topic we made super hero capes using cotton reels to make a repeating pattern.

In Art, Year 2 have looked closely at paintings by a variety of different artists. They have identified which primary and secondary colours the artist has used and commented on how the painting makes them feel. The children listened to other opinions and used 'because' to explain their own reasons.

In Art, Year 2 are looking at different pieces of artwork that use primary and secondary colours. We are spotting similarities and differences and looking at how artists have their own styles.

In Geography, Year 3 began to understand the difference between human geography and physical geography. After that, we went outside to identify structures in our school that were either human made or physically made. Year 3 worked amazingly in their pairs. Well done all🌲👍

In science, Year 1 have been learning about human body parts. We drew around each other and then labeled the body parts. We finished with a game of Simon says using the new body parts we learnt.

Reception have been given their new Super Power Word book today. It has 3 Super Power Words to learn to read. The children will be tested on these next Monday and if they get them right they will get the next set of Super Power words!

Today in Mrs Wilson's Year 2 Maths group, the children have been adding two digit numbers using diennes and jottings.

Our acorn champion has been crowned! Weighing in at an impressive 15g, and measuring 4cm in length, her acorn easily held off the competition. Well done, Sara!

RS had a great time visiting Allesley library this morning. We met the librarian Mrs Stevenson who told us about the library and it's services and who let us explore the books in the children's section

Year 4 have been learning about Vikings during our History lesson. We learned about the first time Vikings landed in England and role played the meeting of Norsemen and Anglo-Saxons for the first time! We shared our findings by acting out the different events and exploring why they occured.
