Slightly late WIP Wed: The first five sections of the 5+1 #faralex fic are complete! Now for the +1! (Coming this weekend for the "Hey, Sweetheart" event.)
She was strong, but sometimes the weight of her choices ground her down into the dust. Alex understood it in a more distant sense. Years of working alongside ULF members, learning the language, and making a home for himself had given him the same drive to protect. And he would help her carry the weight, whether she wanted it or not. "Aww, don't give up now, sweetheart." She half laughed, half groaned. "You're doing it on purpose now." "Maybe," Alex relented with a grin she couldn't see but could hopefully hear in his tone. "Or maybe I just wanted to say it." "Alex..." The silence was heavy but not tense. Things were rarely tense between them these days. They'd gone to war together too many times to be rattled by little things like emotions. And perhaps that was why it was here, in a pitch black room with no way out, that he finally chose to be honest. "Tell me to stop," Alex said.

"John MacTavish, meet Simon Riley. He owns The Raven's Quill." Right. The bookshop next door. Which means they share this alleyway, which means they'll see each other often. Which means, if Soap wants to keep in everyone's good graces, he'll be the bigger man. He glances at Price and rolls his shoulders and paints on his best smile. "Let's start over then. Call mae 'Soap'." Simon looks down at Soap's offered hand but makes no move to take it. Instead he simply says, "No." And turns on his heel and walks back up the three little concrete steps and slams the door closed behind him. Clearly stunned, Price turns and looks at Soap. "I take it you've met?" Soap can't help but grin. "Aye, sir." "Well," Price smirks back, "You'll have to tell me about it." He starts back inside.

Watching some of the ice skating coverage keeps resurfacing a #sheith plotbunny I will likely never pursue.

Shiro & Allura are skating partners (& they happen to both be dating members of a hockey team). Because of Allura's height, Shiro's build, & their matching hair, they make a striking couple.

Started my faralex (flex?) fic, and I'm having so much fun already.
"We need to get out of here," Alex called out. "You think so, eh?" The sarcasm was obvious in her tone, but instead of shutting him down, it ramped him up, grin spreading over his face. He rolled to the opposite side of the door frame currently providing them with cover and shot her a wink. "I do think so. In fact, I have an idea. May I please have a grenade?"
