Tomorrow is a remote day so Chris will not be working. At least they called it at 3pm today instead of 4am tomorrow.
December 5, 2025 at 3:35 AM
Twice this week Chris was asked for his info specifically because he's male. Men rarely sign up for elementary subbing and he's good at it. Wonder why they want men? Kids need a male role model? Show them men can teach too? Put misogynistic children in their place? He's the right guy for all of it.

Maybe snow on Friday also? That's fine I guess. However, this one is signaling more panic than tonight's snow. For once my grocery need isn't aligning with everyone else's milk and bread panic buying. Chris needs deodorant and I'd like some snacks. I can get that sometime tomorrow.

Chris has found his true love with subbing. Librarian. He was so intimidated by the idea at first but I knew he would love it. There aren't many postings, but I was able to snag a couple days later this week.

It's going to snow tonight? Maybe? For the first time ever I hope schools only have a 2-3 hour delay. Chris gets paid for the whole day with a delay/early release, but isn't paid at all for cancellations/remote days.

After a week of taking care of the kids and MIL and somehow keeping all of us safe from Wes’ stomach bug, I have taken the longest relaxing everything shower. All in preparation to maybe be taken out by the flu and covid shot this weekend. I’m going to get so much sleep.

Almost every school/teacher has asked for his info so they can request him. We don’t know if they do that to everyone or if most other subs suck. Chris actually puts in the effort and has been complimented on it, especially his patience. Apparently a lot of subs are not patient with EC kids.

Chris has now tried almost everything except high school core subjects and anything middle school. His current favorites are high school careers and technology electives and, surprisingly, elementary exceptional student teacher assistant.

Chris's first week of substituting went well. It was good exposure to how one kid can derail everything. He subbed 3rd grade yesterday and enjoyed it. Both schools had teachers complementing him and asking him to come back. Tomorrow will be his first high school. Avoiding middle school at all costs.

Finally getting started on making sport team jewelry. Keeping it trademark friendly of course. Made a spreadsheet for checking off everything. Question is, what color combos do I feature as my main photo? Figure I should probably include 3 or so. Probably whoever is most popular?

Lu is going to be the death of me. This evening, his parents came home and the first thing he said was “Hailey put candy pills in my popcorn!”

WHAT?!?

I put M&Ms in his popcorn. Why did he say it like that? 😵

I think I’m going to change pharmacies. My issue is fixed, but they were so rude to me. I was trying to be so nice because I know they deal with some terrible bullshit. I’ve seen it first hand while in line. But I don’t think my little heart can take it when I was being kind and apologetic.

Update: the nurse just messaged me and said she’ll send in a one month supply with updated instructions in hopes insurance will cover it.

I have been derailed. I have to work today. I can't keep getting distracted.
October 30, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Also, my pharmacy's website is having issues because it isn't showing my Rx history for 2025. I can see 2024 for some reason. And this is a large chain pharmacy.

Good thing the wrapper with the Rx sticker from my last pack of pills was still in the bottom of my bedside trashcan.

Went to refill my birth control and it says I can't pick it up for over 2 weeks. I have 2 pills left. Messaged my doctor and they confirmed my last refill was sent in as I have been taking it for the past 16 years. 4 packs every 3 months. The pharmacy only refilled 3/4 of my meds.

I haven't heard much from Chris today. The position he's subbing for is a long term vacancy. He asked me if he should commit. I think he should work the week and see how he feels about it. How draining are kindergartners? He would probably prefer high school history, but no guaranteed availability.
October 28, 2025 at 5:07 PM
Chris has accepted his first substitute teaching job as a kindergarten teacher's assistant. Probably not too much pressure. Our nephews love when he reads to them. 🤷

He has to be there at 6:20am but he's done at 2:20. He's going to be exhausted.

Woke up on Monday to motivation to do everything except my actual work. By the time I'm done with work, I'll lose motivation to do the stuff I woke up excited about.

ADHD time blindness is my husband thoroughly believing he can clean the bathroom, get in a full strength training workout, shower, and get ready to leave in an hour.

I have zero motivation today. It was one of those mornings when I could have kept dozing for hours. I should have started work at least 3 hours ago.

And we’re not talking this morning while it’s still dark. This was 11am and sunny. I missed the worker ringing the doorbell while I was in the shower.

I’m borrowing my mom’s car while mine is getting a new pressure line and someone hit it this morning. The guys working next door saw it and were going to write down the tag number. However, the guy must have seen them looking and backed up the road so they couldn’t see his tags.

My preferred sneaker is no longer in production.😭 I found one pair on Amazon that's reasonably priced and an acceptable color.
