Absolutely gorgeous green algae from Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷 Possibly Boergesenia forbesii / Valonia forbesii. I believe that the bubbles are single, inflated cells - amazing!

Today in Born Predators: Why would you need a shark biologist to investigate a slam dunk shark attack? Well, she knows a lot about the way sharks behave and can say what’s normal. And what might be unusual. And what might be impossible

Happy Pride month! While this is a time to celebrate, it is also a time to protest. Currently, there are more than 900 bills under consideration in the United States that would negatively impact trans and LGBTQ+ people. Now more than ever, we need to show up & support LGBTQ+ rights 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️

You’re on a boat in a small bay near where the movie Jaws takes place. It’s a deep summer night. A dear friend is in the water, and you find there’s a huge, tagged white shark in that same bay. What’s your reaction? What do you do? How does it turn out?
