Night turkeys.
Woke up at 2 am and had trouble falling asleep. Soon, I hear the unmistakable gobble of turkeys in the yard. Too dark to see but it kept coming - slowly creeping from one end to the other.
They’re not supposed to be nocturnal but these were.
Night. Turkeys.

This blew me away. Talk To Me was one of my faves of the last 5 years, but the Philippou’s somehow already went ahead and surpassed it. They’re masters of exploring grief and trauma through horror, and now everything they make has to be a must-watch #horror #BringHerBack

Had a dream I was back in school and we’d occasionally host a guest student named “Box Man.” He’d be at his desk, going through class normally, but lived inside a wooden container that he’d pop out of like a jack-in-the-box. His attendance was marked on calendars as “Box Day.”

Alright… I’m very into this. One of my favorite novels of all time, not just one of my favorites by McCarthy. These two actors could knock this one out of the park

What makes great #horror? The striking of deeply personal chords? Confronting universal inevitabilities? Monsters, moments, or buildup? I think about this often while writing, but I’ve come to believe the answer is moreso about doing enough to allow the reader/viewer to empathize
