The ALSAC article list so many great ways to support libraries and librarians .I’d add, let your city council/governing body/city management know how much you love the library with kudos and shout outs!

My editor sent me a couple of line edits to really tie up a manuscript and bring it all together. I’m so happy how the story turned out with her help… but also baffled how I didn’t see what she saw 😂

As predicted by @friendsoffbisdl.bsky.social and allies in the fight for the freedom to read, the recently revised EF Local board policy, that goes above and beyond what is permitted or required by state law, is having a measurable negative impact on FBISD libraries.
Bad book news out of Fort Bend ISD, near Houston. The district has added 24 books to its “Do not order” list, effectively banning them from the district. The list includes books by Octavia Butler, Stephen King, Haruki Murakami, & Nobel-Prize winner Jose Saramago. www.fortbendisd.com/Page/169441

@justinrcolon.bsky.social Justin's critiques are always thoughtful, practical and implementable. His recording of read aloud of your manuscript (if he still does it) is icing on the top. Check it out!

It’s been almost a year since my last post.

Hi! I write books for kids and teens. Reading, sleeping and dark chocolate are my favorites.
