Nearly 24 hours after a notice went out about Gov. Bob Ferguson going out of state for two weeks, we finally got a (vague) explanation about his plans.

“These are painful cuts to make,” said Cascade PBS CEO Rob Dunlop. Worth noting that Dunlop made over $550k last year, an almost $50k increase from his salary in 2023.

New from me: WA governor suspends policy that allowed public records to be destroyed for years, despite warnings and concerns about the policy since it was implemented in 2021. Taxpayers will now pay out $225k for the destruction of records by DCYF.

Washington state collects approximately $700,000 every month in federal benefits intended for about 750 eligible foster children, to fund the agency overseeing their care. Is this the year WA changes this policy? New from me:
