I went to the other high school in Midwest City at the time, and the Shelden Williams/Matt Kemp hype train was wild, though it was mostly about Williams and “the other guy”. I think it was a couple years after he broke into the bigs that I put together that Kemp was the dude from my hometown.

Been waiting for Jay’s Gordo retrospective and he nails it. The only WS game I made it to in person was 2015 G1, in my #4 jersey, which is a thrill I doubt will ever be matched in my spectating career.
