#joeandashley #primarytakeaway Main thing I got is SME 1 is about co-creating not just using AI. We play with prompts and answer based on the role it’s doing. Feels more like a game than a tool. Also feels like we might have some control over AI in this case.

#joeandashley #joesopinion I feel Joe on this communication tip. Can’t just hit AI with weak questions. We really have to make it push back. That’s how we get creative and level up.
February 8, 2026 at 6:02 PM
#joeandashley #helpfulassistant i think Joe’s “you are a helpful assistant” thing got me. GPT ain’t just answering, it’s acting like the other side and we’re shaping it. Makes sense for 209, we’re trying to find antienvs not just answers.

#joeandashley Hearing that even developers don’t fully understand why newer LLMs behave the way they do is honestly unsettling. These systems are human made, but they just seem risky because it can cause serious damage to individuals in different ways if not handled right.
February 8, 2026 at 5:55 PM
#joeandashley The idea that GPT is constantly roleplaying a “helpful assistant” explains so much. I’ve noticed my prompts would be like: I HAVE AN EXAM IN LIKE 2 DAYS. CREATE A HARD MCQ TEST OTHERWISE ID FAIL. And it would genuinely create really good/hard questions. And also provide an answer key.
February 8, 2026 at 5:53 PM
#joeandashley I really did think Google Ai mode is a lil more accurate because it would cite sources next to each thing it said. And then when I clicked on it, it would take me there. ChatGPT mostly gives out false citations and fake quotes.

#joeandashley “If you’re already online, you’re in the AI world” really stuck with me. We don’t really have an option to refuse AI. ITS EVERYWHERE. So I feel like we should understand how it thinks, what it ignores, and whose interests it serves.

#atmospherestudy I’m still stuck on that shift. From restaurant to seaside to echoes to violin returning like a warning. Is she remembering? Dissociating? Imagining? I wanna steal that move. I wanna see how sound contradicts meaning until my voice feels like fog and silence does the talking.
February 8, 2026 at 5:16 PM
#atmospherestudy This podcast kept misaligning things on purpose. Tense violin over nostalgia. Siren like calm over an icecream. And then screaming, crying, ambulances then sudden shift to the seaside and amusement park. The medium shaped confusion, not clarity. Sound made reality feel unstable.
February 8, 2026 at 5:15 PM
#atmospherestudy when the birds kept chirping and her voice dropped out, I felt unsettled before I knew why. With visuals, it might’ve just been “a seaside scene.” Without images, I noticed pacing, breath, silence and how absence itself can cause some typa tension.
February 8, 2026 at 5:14 PM
#knickerbockerglory At the very end of the podcast like (9m12s), she echos her words. And the violin reappears hinting towards another upcoming shift.
February 8, 2026 at 5:07 PM
#knickerbockerglory The background sounds tend to misalign with the dialogues. There’s screaming could now be linked to “the joyful memories” from the adventure park. But the ambulance sound was confusing.
February 8, 2026 at 5:06 PM
#knickerbockerglory I hear screams. Chaos. Ambulance in the background. Crying. Screaming. Children. Adults. Following this, the speaker says “I’m at the seaside”. That sounded like anything BUT the seaside. Is she trying to hide something? Is she living a dream?
February 8, 2026 at 5:05 PM
#knickerbockerglory Okay so they are in a restaurant. And she confirmed things change. But change how?
February 8, 2026 at 5:04 PM
#knickerbockerglory The background noise is starting to shift from just music to music with people clattering maybe plates? Or dishes? The music has also changed to like just tensed. Maybe something bad is supposed to happen?
February 8, 2026 at 5:03 PM
#knickerbockerglory I like the tension between the music. It’s like a siren (very soothing) then I believe the violin is creating some sort of dramatic very tense sound.
February 8, 2026 at 5:01 PM
#knickerbockerglory I like how after they said “take a spoon of knickerbocker glory,” there were sounds of waves. It was very peaceful. Just like how Nina must’ve felt eating that nostalgic ice cream.

#knickerbockerglory A Knickerbocker Glory is… an ice cream sundae.
British seaside. Since 1932.
I truly expected anything else. 😭 Thought it was a garment at first.

#knickerbockerglory My bird started chirping as soon as I played the podcast. The bird sounds are so peaceful.

#hwa2 #insight I really enjoyed hanging with Ashley #2. It was really nice to have you elaborate on stuff from TMITM that a lot of us were confused about or just found interesting. #weeklycatmeme

#hwa2 #dangerous Ending with Whitehead makes sense because being “dangerous” now feels small but real. For me it’s catching myself midscroll and asking why this is here and what it’s doing to me. That pause alone feels like what am I doing with my life. LOL

#hwa2 #donetone Yeah, something already shifted for me. I’ve been paying more attention to what’s shaping me when I scroll, especially on Insta. Insta has this new feature where u can adjust ur algorithm. But when something random comes through I’m like damn. Exposing myself below LOL 👇🏻👇🏻

#hwa2 Ngl, I really like this quote. Because dangerous doesn’t have to mean violence. It can also mean “awake” or conscious right? Like noticing patterns before they feel normal and not just going along with stuff because it’s comfortable.

#hwa2 #Whatmcluhanwants McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because when we break things up, we miss how everything works together. In part 3, the confusing layout of the book forces you to notice the environment, not just the content.

#hwa2 #flippingdewey McLuhan flips John Dewey’s quote not to dismiss him, but to point out a blind spot.
