These!

Real life green men and women.

Artists Karoline Hjorth & Riitta Ikonen have been on a journey to find them. Their project, “Eyes as Big as Plates,” transforms elders around the world into living sculptures, adorned with the very landscape they inhabit moss, seaweed, branches, and soil.

I'm very fond of looking at stained glass windows in churches.
Often my favourite parts are the unregarded details tucked away in the corners.
Plants, animals and birds - the naturey bits - are often to be found there.
This is a montage I've made of some of those

it was like Pompeii for the Ivy people

some were trying to escape,

others embracing,

a kissing couple,

this one was caught in the act of climbing over a wall.

Things That Don't Exist - Peacock

They used to think there was a bird
with a hundred-eye shimmer for a tail.

Rainbow fractured in the facets of
a fly's compound eye.

And get this -

Some still claim to see them.

Brimstone butterfly

It's great to see butterflies doing well this year. And insects in general.

After an atrocious year last year - it's good to see them bounce back, in this much better weather.

It was like the old days - almost.

- Because I Could Only Walk Twelve Steps -

threw myself forward to where
I'd soon be, traveled in the slipstream, like
a skein of geese, in person-form

the dog I would be walking
If I had a dog, sniffed out new routes
found novel ways to get lost ....

My, what a long ovipositor you've got .

it also has a very excellent latin name - Gasteruption jaculator
it has a very, very long ovipositor for laying eggs in the nests of solitary bees and wasps

Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them.
Therefore the only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy.
The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now.

paraphrase of Terry Prachett

I was an odd child,
life sticking out in all
the wrong places

the boy I was didn't
speak much, not to
people anyway

the man I am found
the words he left in birds,
returned them to the boy
