Cephalopod with various synths and other noisemaking machinery. AKA Black Tempest. Yoga teacher and vegetarian.
It would be tempting to hand him a pair of binoculars and tell him to look at the solar system's biggliest power source.

A Christmas present to myself from Signal Sounds - Patch Deck. A deck of cards with "tips, tricks and strategies for modular synthesis". Looking forward to giving these a go. With free Signal Sounds lollipop!

I knew Norman when we lived in Brixton, spent some happy evenings with him. He could tell a great story!

I think the rise of board game cafes is a great thing. The age range is really wide, from infants with parents/carers playing Hungry Hippos to old gits like me playing D&D or board games or whatever. And teens NOT LOOKING AT THEIR PHONES FOR HOURS! Blimey.

Our boys* like a good board game. I've been playing some down at a board game cafe near us too - they have an evening club where you join in with others playing whatever from their huge library of games. Its a very sociable thing, and very diversely attended.

*By boys I mean a 27 and a 30 year old!

We've just had our first go at playing Apiary. Its about bees in space. Sort of!

As with many recent board games I've tried, it is complicated at first, but gets easier after grinding round a couple of rounds. We haven't finished it though.

One of the best things in 2000AD for years - just brilliant.

First Record of The Weekend is Pere Ubu's The Art of Walking from 1980. I sometimes wonder if this is my favourite Ubu album (it isn't, that's the Modern Dance). I love the everydayness of the lyrics that nonetheless add to the surreality of it all.

"Sad but true..."

Good point.

All proceeds from this track go to Psych Against Cancer - please give generously.

Yuletide Greetings all!

They make it sound like going to prison. I don't think I'll be visiting in the near future.

I'm now tempted to do a field recording in a launderette. Maybe even a launderette concept album.

First Record of The Weekend is Mother Give Your Children Sanity from Codex Serafini on @riotseasonrecords.bsky.social. This is a total blast - in places like some mutant child of Siouxsie & the Banshees and Hawkwind. Definitely a case to play VERY LOUD.

Today is Bandcamp Friday when artists pay no fees on sales, so if you were considering purchasing Black tempest's Folding Space album at it's new knock-down price, today would be a splendid day to do so.

First Record of The Weekend is Mono Live in Tokyo with Orchestra Pitreza - Forever Home. This is massive in scale, gorgeous and awe-inspiring, like planets colliding. I can't stop listening to it. An absolutely splendid package too - a gold triple vinyl with double gatefold and booklet.
