As you travel around Squam, see if you can spot the SLA scuba divers aboard our specially designed boat, Millie. They're removing variable milfoil, an invasive aquatic plant that chokes out native ecosystems.

For over 75 years, the SLA has maintained trails across the Squam Lakes region. With a trail network spanning 60 miles, the SLA performs over 2,500 hours of trail construction and maintenance each year.

We started our water-quality data set in 1978 and continue to monitor sites across the watershed year-round. This historic record informs the actions we take to conserve #SquamLake, and volunteers are crucially important to keep it going.
