Just found my new favorite blogger
A discussion with one of my research colleagues and @simonwillison.net led me to write this down.
"Full Stack Person" sounds like a mouthful, but IMO captures well the idea of becoming a well-rounded technologist.

Members of the Florida legislature earn $18,000 a year. Yes, they’re only in session for about 2 months, but consider who is even able to take on that kind of arrangement, and the ethical problems it all but guarantees. More money paired w/ far more stringent ethical requirements serves the public.
The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.
We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.

I'm seriously considering making "Applied LLMs for Power BI" for my next course. It would walk through theory, practical advice, and go from simple chat tasks to MCPs and agents.
If I do, what kind of content would you want to see?

If you can’t articulate the other side’s point of view during an argument or debate, then you haven’t eliminated the possibility that what you have is actually a miscommunication not a conflict.

Had my first positive experience with a #PowerBI related MCP server. I was able to use to help identify columns in a data model for a missing dimension, as well as identify what valid values existed across fact tables.

I've decided to resubscribe to this newsletter. While a lot of dev content isn't relevant to me, I need a no-hype pulse of the industry.
OpenAI has started to hire junior software engineers, and it's working great for them.
This comes from me talking with Sulman Choudhry (Head of ChatGPT Engineering). They've started calling them "super juniors" because of the impact they are having newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/san-franci...

This newsletter really captures the vibe shift in tech. It’s a story remarking about how notable it is that a tech company is hiring junior engineers.
I remember when complaints of the industry being youth focused was the norm. Now the pendulum has completely swung the other way.

I did a presentation 8 years ago on keeping up with technology. AI is changing enough of the social contract that I'm not sure it's still valid but there's a few gems in there.
