My 11th visit @TheCCT to St. Margaret, #Hales, Norfolk.
A Norman round tower thatched church with aspe & beautiful carved doorways. Octagonal font with carvings. Remains of wall paintings. A lovely church & a favourite of mine.

Rather disappointed that I have been unable to take gtgrandson for his weekly visit to the £17M library The Place, Gt #Yarmouth as Children’s section has been closed for many weeks due to a ‘water leak’. Please sort in a timely manner @morgansindallc @greatyarmouthbc @NorfolkCC

My 5th @TheCCT visit to St. Michael, #Booton, Norfolk. This wonderful church immediately put a smile on my grieving face. The quirky architecture, 3 towers, large carved roof angels, musicians in stained glass. Architect Lutyens said “Very naughty, but built in the right spirit.

My 4th @TheCCT visit to St. Faith, Little #Whitchingham, Norfolk. A remote parish church & very peaceful. My 1962 Pevsner described it as “disused and ruinous” but now in good condition. Almost empty with fine remains of wall paintings excavated in the 1970s. A lovely church.

Really enjoyed the interview with the great @johnmrutter on @BBCBreakfast this morning which has made my day. Reminds me of the two times Diana and I attended his ‘Come and sing day’. Wonderful memory for me as I travel this road of bereavement.

My 2nd @TheCCT visit to St. Peter’s at North #Barningham, Norfolk. A light, rather remote parish church & very peaceful. Tidy churchyard as others in CCT. Number of monuments & brasses. Unusual circular brick & stone design in nave floor. Another lovely church well cared for.

3rd visit with my new @nationaltrust membership. My 2nd to #Felbrigg Hall this sunny day. This time looked inside the Hall & gardens. Nice welcome by staff & entered the Morning Room to a visitor playing the piano brilliantly. Wonderful rooms esp library. A most enjoyable visit.

I continue my journey on this strange road of widowhood following the loss of my Diana and so, in addition to my National Trust trips, I have started to visit those churches now in the care of the Church Conservation Trust. Better late than never as we have been members for many years.

My 1st Church Conservation Trust visit to St. Mary’s Church, at nearby East #Ruston Norfolk. A light, spacious parish church & very peaceful. A fine font with demons on its base & bearded faces on the panels. Good rood screen with 8 figures. A fine church well cared for.

It is with sadness that I have to let you know that we lost Di on the morning of Wednesday, 21st. She died peacefully at home holding my hand & with Betty the cat at her side. She will be missed by me, our 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, the wider family and numerous friends.

Thank you @jamespagethospital.bsky.social and @morgansindall.bsky.social for creating the courtyard near ward 15. With my wife Diana spending 5 weeks in hospital & me visiting & staying with her everyday it is a place of peace & sanctuary for me, & others.

Early Sunday a.m. visit to the new Community Diagnostic Centre #CCD @NNUH for Di’s MRI. As all of Di’s visits to hospital, excellent service yet again. Warm welcome at reception & by the medical staff & from most helpful security chap on duty. A fine modern building just opened.

Discovered the YouTube channel ‘Harry’s garage’ @garage_harry and found it informative & refreshing to hear objective & considered views on electric & internet combustion vehicles. Far better than those who create vlog content full of questionable info.

It was a pleasure to be on duty Welcoming @Nrw_Cathedral when the visiting choir from @GirtonChoir arrived for Evensong. A few days later I saw a wonderful note in the visitor’s book by a Miranda from Blackpool saying “Girton College did a banging evensong”. Praise indeed.
