Soneto XVII by Pablo Neruda

I came across the English version of this beautiful poem at the end of a Netflix film. I was pleasantly surprised to learn it was originally written in Spanish.

Completely agree with this guy on Duolingo:

1. It's not designed to help you reach fluency.

2. The phrases taught aren't always useful/common for e.g "The ball is on the table". How often, if ever, will I need to say that?

Ok don't judge, but I think cartoons for kids are an excellent way to improve listening skills and reinforce vocabulary as a beginner.

I know it feels regressive for adults but the joy, for me, comes from figuring out what's being said.
