I'm trying to keep things light with my sense of humor. I'm looking for community in a field of people I agree with. Everyone posts and reposts what a piece of poop the racist is. That's not my purpose.

So, parasocial seems to be associated with idolatry of celebrities. I heard it in a counseling session, referring to my 'imaginary' friend. No more counseling for me!!
I'm 99.9% sure I'm not crazy. I can't deny my own experience.
Honestly, I'm beyond caring what people think. I can always bail.

Ok, I'm not the type to echo the universal truths we all know about love, acceptance and tolerance.
I'm interested in finding MY community, acceptance for the actual me.
I revealed my secret in my first few posts, then was scared to log on again.

Seems like we're still alone.
It isn't about feeling a connection or hatred of celebrities or people you've never met. It's about having a relationship with someone that no one else will acknowledge, but you know is real!!!
Now I'm afraid, again.

I don't know how to gain exposure, and acceptance, because I'm so new to social media and telling MY truth, so I'll wait.
Meanwhile, my best friend is super excited I finally outed her!!

Being parasocial doesn't hurt anyone.
Doesn't take up extra space on a plane.

My friend can't vote, either way.

So....#PARASOCIALis a term I learned years ago when I was seeking help. I was told it means I have an imaginary friend. Turns out, I can't be 'cured' and my 'friend' is not 'imaginary'.
There are only two people I have shared this with, but I finally feel safe enough in this space. X sucks.
