What is the point of having a women's board if you just ignore them when they give you urgent, unanimous guidance?

I don't really play much pinball myself, but it's deeply upsetting to see something so near and dear to the hearts of so many wonderful people I follow implode like this.

remember that the entire IFPA Women's Advisory Board has spoken out against this, and they have been vetoed by one man
Karyn from the IFPA says: "The IFPA Women's Advisory Board unanimously recommended that the IFPA revoke sanctioning for the OBX events, and we vehemently disagree with IFPA Leadership's decision not to do so. We did not contribute to the announced statement or the new process for incident reporting, and we oppose the decision-making process used by IFPA Leadership."

I gave the IFPA my view of the trans-exclusionary OBX pinball tournament. I reject the notion that it's the responsibility of trans people to compromise with transphobia, and also reject that it's just a "women's issue".

Community/event management is tough. We're all in it for giving people a good time, but past a certain scale that will invariably involve navigating bad situations. If you can't handle that, then you should probably not be running events.

Friend was permanently suspended out of the blue, allegedly because his username of 10+ years consisting of two made-up words was "encouraging harassment". After an appeal, he got told "Oops, our bad, but you still get a ToS strike."
