honestly, biggest reason why i stop posting for years at a time. i still write as much bc i write for me and i get to read all that anytime, but i post for the chance to engage with others and if it looks like no one cares or wants to engage, there's no need to keep posting
I think a big fandom shift in interacting with stuff has gone from people commenting under the created thing whether it be fic or art to people linking it in private discord groups where the person who made it will never see any positive comments left on the thing they made.
