A Sketch of night herons at the zoo is the latest adventure in my sketchbook…

When drawing night herons, they will tolerate you just enough to get their shape. Then they will abruptly move. It’s their way of teaching you to draw from memory. Clearly.

So thoughtful.

Just two ducks thinking duck things.

Actually these are Marbled Teal, the most endangered duck in Europe. But they are probably not thinking about that...

'After 200 years, we're seeing this species again': The lost birds making a comeback in the Galapagos Islands
Freed from the threat of invasive predators, Galapagos birds are performing astonishing feats of return and innovation – 200 years after Charles Darwin visited the archipelago.

Quilt art makes me happy. It’s just so cozy.
I know people like the hang this on their wall or something. But i like the idea of wrapping yourself up in art for comfort.
And now I have progress on the new quilt as I return to the studio. I love it when I have a work in progress to let me get back into the flow. #piecing #workinprogress #artquilt #quiltstudio

TY to everyone who commented in my last post. I promise I’ll respond, but I’ve been busy prepping food and wrapping last minute gifts 😅.

Extraordinarily important.
🌱How important are managed grasslands and protected areas for Little Bustard on a Mediterranean island?

For day 22 of #artadventcalendar a kangaroo

I’ve never been to Australia, so it amazes me that these run wild there. I’ve only seen them at zoos. There are so many creatures in this world and so little time to see them in their natural habitats 😕

#ArtAdventCalendar day 22.

The cosmic web. This is what the universe looks like on very large scales. The individual galaxies are very exaggerated in size. But this serves to illustrate the filamentery nature of the cosmos.

Woodchuck. Day 21 of #artadventcalendar.

If life was as simple as a woodchuck eating an Apple would we all be happy?

As a #wildlifeartist, sometimes you draw animals from life that are curious or don’t mind much, like birds.

But sometimes your subject is absolutely terrified of you and thinks you are the scariest monster in the world, like Patagonian Maras.

Over the weekend, I was a scary monster 🙂
