It’s weird as hell when Golden knows family recipes that are the same as mine growing up. Like, what do you mean it’s chicken alfredo night, and it’s identical to what I remember?

Our oldest is back in the other world for his new duties, but our youngest is staying with us indefinitely for now. Some experiences from the tournament messed him up pretty bad. It was almost like seeing him back to the point when we first met, but he’s bounced back pretty quick.

This WHOLE time I thought we weren’t getting updates because of some timeline misalignment. Like, maybe years have passed on our end, while for the kids it’s only been a couple of weeks or something, right? Nope, their phones got CONFISCATED before they even left for the tournament. I’m so miffed.

It’s finally starting to feel like stuff is going back to normal. Killia still insists that we all take a break, so apart from that. I’m not exactly needed for Council stuff right now either, so if anything it just feels like a (well deserved) vacation.

It’s kind of wild to think about how for an entire year, there was all this tension and everyone was constantly trying to prepare or find out more about these mystery opponents, and then just like that, it was over.

I don’t like to think a lot about my childhood or whatever, but looking back at that compared to what I’ve got now is almost unreal. After an upset or sustaining this much damage, I would be pretty much left to deal with it alone back then. Hell, even 10 years ago it wouldn’t have been like this.

Life is so fucking weird. One second I’m in the ring training with people in preparation for some world shattering event (again), and then the next second I’m being informed that my cute little side project to provide safe and private vacation destinations to people is complete.

Boy am I glad one of my best friends is good with property management and stuff. My branch just picked up a bunch of new affiliate locations, and now I’ve got to work on inventory and premises guidelines. He’s helping with distribution and integration.

I’ve been working hard on so much behind the scenes for years, and the Council FINALLY accepted my proposal about some changes. /Technically/ my workload just doubled… but it’s split between 2 halves of the year, which makes all of it as a whole a lot more manageable.
