Authors that send their editors manuscripts with chapter headings and page numbers formatted in the doc are the GOATs. Makes it much easier to keep track of things

I will never use AI for my covers, editing, translation, or anything else. It is not only useless to me as an author, it is actively hostile and harms every skill related to book production.
If you're an author against AI used to generate writing, you better back everyone else in the chain too.

Writer and editor.
1) Word of mouth is incredibly powerful. If authors you respect were happy with their work, that's a green flag.
2) It's an editor's job to help make your story the best version of itself. To move it in line with your vision for it. Not to transform it into something else.
