Cal’s sleep is generally dreamless. His sleep schedule is never the same because he’s always either working, going out, or just keeping himself as busy as possible. He sleeps purely depending on that, so when he finally does, it’s never really restful or deep enough to dream.

I’d say in the kingdom the story is set in, it’s fairly common to be anything other than heterosexual, though existing misogyny does cause phobia in some people. Most don’t care who others are attracted to though, gender-wise. Especially in the capital, closer to the palace (the King dgaf).

KoA isn’t at all connected to real life, so their languages wouldn’t actually resemble ours at all, realistically.
But it’s also entirely fictional- so Ember is fluent in English and Spanish, while Cal knows English and a bit of Spanish :)

i know it's easy to throw yourself under the bus by saying "haha ew my art sucks" before anyone else does, but self deprecation will only get you so far.
its an easy out to be the first person to criticize yourself, but that kind of negativity will only drive people away.

I think Ember would keep trying- but only if it’s a goal that someone else depends on. He often doesn’t eat himself considering his own goals or wants while serving as Captain.
