Hit my head so hard on the doorway of our balcony that the power in the whole apartment went out.

It’s my best friend’s birthday, I remembered after my wife told me. I leave him a voicemail, he calls me back and I’m at a cafe, but I can’t hear him so now I’m outside sweating, eating fucking yogurt of all things and it’s like 92 degrees, but I can’t go back inside now because then I’ll look dumb.

1. Doué > Yamal 2. Will never forgive Chelsea for not bringing in Luis Enrique. 3. Barcola’s missed chances confirms why we passed on him.

Chelsea need to strike on Franco Mastantuono this season to get him behind Palmer and next season I would love to see a bid for Fermin Lopez to replace Enzo. Those two beside each other would be a dream.

Descartes is one of my favorite philosophers to start arguments with but lately I’ve felt like my state of being is out of wack and I realized it’s because I haven’t been thinking. Not really. Planning, coping, managing mostly. Not thinking.

The more I read the Odyssey and listen to my student’s commentary, the harder I find it to believe that the Greeks ever celebrated Odysseus as a hero. I wonder if that interpretation arose in the West as a way of justify combat skills over everything else…

I’ve been teaching Camus’ interpretation on the myth of Sisyphus a couple years now and it just occurred to me that the boulder is in the underworld, so his burden is eternal only after death…and so how does this represent the human condition?

Don’t mean to be controversial but I really hate seeing videos of people setting themselves on fire as a way of being funny

Every poet I’m reaching out to for March/April has only October availability so that I’ve now essentially scheduled a full reading for the Fall but have made no progress on the first Milkhouse of the year lol

As someone who has read Gion’s manuscript I’m really pulling for his collection. Compelling, beautiful & poignant. Also pulling for friend of Milkhouse Reading Series Juliet Gelfman-Randazoo! 💘 can’t wait to read the new crop of Metatron selections, no matter who it is - v forward-thinking press!!
We are pleased to announce ‘The Longlist’ for the seventh edition of The International Metatron Poetry Prize! 🏆

Of these 22 manuscripts, 8 will advance to our Shortlist and be read by guest judge Precious Okoyomon 🪽 Who will take home the grand prize and be published with us in 2026?!
