Big thanks to @matildecer.bsky.social, @mtplk.bsky.social, and @nzwiener-collins.bsky.social for the invite and for bringing together such lovely people! Really loved my time in Munich, grateful to have been part of it!
We (@matildecer.bsky.social @nzwiener-collins.bsky.social and I) pulled off our small but mighty workshop, bridging boundaries between gender x politics subfield and quantitative methods 👧🏻📊

So grateful to @lmumuenchen.bsky.social and Fritz Thyssen Stiftung for making it possible 🤓

Our Element is out! 🎉

Why do authoritarian-leaning leaders target women’s and LGBTQ+ rights? Is there a systematic pattern that reaches beyond individual country cases, and how is this reflected in people’s attitudes and societal norms?

🧵1/ Are primaries bad for political diversity? Conventional wisdom says yes—but our article in @wepsocial.bsky.social shows that candidate selection modes are not necessarily a bottleneck for representation, at least when it comes to demand. 🗳️👥 @sandrahkansson.bsky.social

🧵 What kind of POPE do AMERICANS want?📸

Before the Conclave, @sophiemainz.bsky.social and I asked 1,500 U.S. adults to choose among hypothetical papal candidates.

Results: Americans prefer a liberal and *non-political* Pope. The latter might be challenging for Leo XIV.

🚨 Talking about harassment in politics hurts your political career.

Yes, even in 🇸🇪. And, yes, for both women & men.

Here’s what me and @sandrahkansson.bsky.social found in our Political Behavior paper using both experimental and descriptive approaches: link.springer.com/article/10.1... 👇

Happy to find out that my paper Still proud at the polls belongs to #EJPR 's best cited papers of 2023. For those who missed out on the paper, I show that high levels of LGB voter mobilization do not disappear after the enactment of major LGBT+ rights. doi.org/10.1111/1475...

Came across a great thread today! I, too, learned R by teaching myself with online material for my master thesis. Later, I added summer school courses and am now teaching R at @UU_University. I can only stress that it is such a versatile and empowering tool to know.
