Come see what all the fuss over this cute cat is about!
For many, one of the happiest upsets at this year’s Oscars was Flow winning Best Animated Feature. The film’s tiny team from Latvia went home national heroes. We share our thoughts about this special film, its storytelling style, and its allegories, with a few animal imitations along the way.

An incredibly fun conversation that asked me to stretch my retrospective muscles! It is staggering when you stop to think about what has happened in the last 13 years.
Kathleen Kennedy has had a storied tenure in her 13 years at Lucasfilm. In this podcast, we are joined by Greg Cass (EyeOnCanon) and @sopchockchai.bsky.social from @thelongtakereview.bsky.social to celebrate her work and accomplishments!

I feel like I *just* got the hang of Oscar punditry. And now conventional wisdom is shifting tectonically. #oscars

In case anyone was wondering what I did yesterday…

@thelongtakereview.bsky.social final predictions episode recording kept going all night, but I’m going to try to edit it and get it out ASAP!

Seeing a lot about Timothée Chalamet’s “I want to be one of the greats” SAG acceptance speech. Keep in mind that had SAG aired BEFORE Oscar voting closed, it could have 100% propelled him to a win on Sunday. Since it didn’t, it’s merely an indication that he has a chance. #oscars

And we have a race once more! You can find me on the edge of my seat next Sunday.

I had no idea that’s where that Good Place reunion was going…and it was delightful. Keep the referential jokes coming, SAG!

We’re working overtime to review all the Best Picture nominees before the Oscars on March 2nd!
RaMell Ross’ Nickel Boys reconfigures conventional film continuity to create a “sentient POV,” in which the camerawork reflects a sensory experience, as if the camera were a person. Join us in our latest episode as we unpack our reactions to this style and the important story it tells.

Making this show takes a lot of time (we’re not the short take review, after all), but I love every minute. @ptmcniff.bsky.social brings it with film history and research, Greg still blows me away with how many films he sees a year, and Antonio gifts us with his deep love/knowledge of indie films.
We have made it to 100 episodes! To commemorate this milestone, we take a break from our Oscar coverage to ask each other some probing questions about our episodes and our filmgoing lives. This was very fun to record and confirmed for us how meaningful it has been making the show. Come join us!

It’s pencils down for Oscar noms.
1. Emilia Perez is here to stay.
2. We will think The Substance underperformed when really it overperformed.
3. Sing Sing will squeak into Picture like Women Talking did.
4. Wicked fans will be upset it missed big categories.
5. Best Actress?!?!!!!

We really should have let Jon M. Chu bring a PowerPoint to go with his pitch for why Wicked deserves to win Best Picture at the Oscars. #goldenglobes
