I am looking for a new role starting in 2025, preferably as a researcher in cultural studies (fashion, gender, media studies), sociology, cultural history and/or Romanian studies.😎
Last week, I had the great pleasure and privilege of being part of a fantastic panel chaired by @granttharward.bsky.social, with @manuelaboatca.bsky.social as our discussant, at the @as Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies ( @aseees.bsky.social ) 2025 Virtual Convention.

So much of the design of this early #1930s dress is about a trick of the eye - the trompe l’oeil - created in the illusion of pleats from the placement of the beadwork that covers the entire garment. Designed by Jean Patou it shimmers in pink and gold #V&A #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Captured mid twirl, Balenciaga’s early #1960s golden gown with its beaded bodice sparkles above the layered silk organza. A swathe of a stole floats about the gown, caught in the act of movement #cincyartmuseum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

If you had to choose a pie, would you prefer a Listman Pie or a banana terracotta pie?

Softly draped and tightly pleated. The contrasts between fabric treatments ebb and flow from the gentle V of the bodice to the minutely pinched smocking at the waist in a blue and white figured silk dating to the late #1840s #kelvingroveartgallery #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
