The @ndp.ca (or other parties) could do more than delete X

They could push for rules requiring government accounts only operate on platforms that meet higher standards around moderation, security and transparency

Lead by example. Governments implicitly endorse these platforms with their presence
If the NDP really wants to set themselves apart, this should be a no brainer for them.

It's probably nothing but one of my cats just winked at me in a vaguely threatening way.

I once went to look at an apartment in a new city. Asked what's up with the window, landlord said "oh just a couple of bullet holes, small caliber so no biggie, I might be able to fix that"

Back at work today, 7 people came in to get US visa photos. First one caught me off guard and I jerked my head back and said "really?" then I remembered many people are idiots.

Tegan and Sara at the Ship and Anchor Saturday jam in Calgary. I think they were still in high school
What musical act did you get to see in an intimate setting? Because it was before they got big or after they had their huge moment?

I know a local radio consultant who has probably been advocating for just that. I also know his local clients are extremely risk averse so......

I should've known the response from the Canadian government would be tepid and limp the moment they announced we'd have a minister of (barf) AI
And here's Canada's tech broligarchy cheering Evan Solomon on...

I'm watching the local news. A pond hockey tournament was among the main stories. It's a different world.

Gotta say I'm proud of how my hometown is reacting to this. Y'all have my emotional support from all these miles away and across a national border.

My somewhat quick recovery is down to some dumb luck that I managed to get the litany of appropriate tests done in a matter of 2 days. A lotta cancellations happen around Christmas.

I'm unsure how I'll deal with being back in civilization. I might have gone mildly feral.

Back to work tomorrow after being off for almost a month. Had a bout of bronchitis and seems likely I had a bad reaction to the antibiotics I was taking and my liver started to shut down. That was literally the worst experience of my life and I've had norovirus and a brain aneurysm. Love yer liver.

My wish for this year is that they start referring to airplane black boxes by the correct colour.

Scotiabank commercial just said the average person makes 6 friends a year. That's too many friends.

The most ridiculous was that season of Fargo where Duluth scenes were shot in downtown Calgary. Ah yeah all those super tall buildings in Duluth.

The thing I most resent about having lived in Vancouver is being able to recognize the city in TV shows filmed there.

This happens to a lesser extent with Toronto as well

BBC needs to really ditch this network as a US media partner and fast.
