The team is back from the Czech Republic after #EdAFoBio project sampling! 🎉

We’re setting up Malaise traps in various locations for @gioelemoro.bsky.social’s thesis project! The goal? To understand the impact of fire on arthropods and how they recover afterward! 🔥🪲

We sampled #soil #arthropods along two 200-km transects, one in the Mediterranean region and one Temperate region

Last week, we sampled #soil #arthropods in Tenerife, where a major wildfire occurred in 2023. We’re investigating arthropod responses in fire-adapted and fire-sensitive forests. Sampling was done with Alena Sucháčková and Vojtech Lanta from Biology Centre CAS, and Carmelo Andújar from @ipna.csic.es

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Bea Lago from Misión Biológica de Galicia (#MBG-CSIC) for a short stay as part of the @csic.es tech personal mobility grants 🌎 We exchanged knowledge about our research lines, and she had the chance to explore techniques for studying soil biodiversity ⛏️🪲

In late January, our PhD student Nira Vega had a short stay at INIA-CSIC, diving into soil nematodes! 🌱🪱 She explored their role in soil health and is now sharing her new knowledge with our team 📈
