How I did was to run the .sh script in atproto.com/guides/self-... and had it install everything I needed
But you can easily read over and run it manually.
Once it had ran, I edited the compose file and removed caddy and added tunnel from this pastebin.com/2iAPgity someone shared in the discord

I run my own Bluesky PDS on a tiny server, using Dokku, an open-source "personal" Heroku clone.

Given the nature of what you're doing I think taking full ownership of the data to avoid censorship would be wise.

Experimental feature for those comfortable with DNS, you can set your domain to be a CNAME of `redirect.bsky.app` and we'll redirect your domain to your bsky profile URL.
Disclaimer: this is an experimental feature and may be removed if we run into problems with it, but hopefully not!

I keep trying to tell people this. Glad to see more people recognizing it.
In short, the right people are working on this, they're not out to build a Twitter clone, they're out to reshape the web, and help us return to the original promise of an open platform, a sense of ownership, and the ability to share with each other on our own terms.
